Media Relations, Advocacy, Marketing:
The Media Relations, Advocacy and Marketing Committee oversees the development and implementation of a chapter public relations program that reflects favorably on PRSA and the profession as well as publicize chapter activities and member accomplishments such as honors or awards through media interviews and speaking engagements.
Social Media:The Social Media Committee will develop and manage social media and online strategies for the chapter, coordinate the flow of information about the Chapter to our members and the community in general, oversee social media profiles such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn and manages the Chapter Blog, serve as the chapter's social media point person for all members and committee chairs, manage a committee of volunteers who contribute to the chapter's social media and online community, monitor the internet for PRSA Colorado posts/news and report to the board a minimum of once a month, post articles as needed, stay abreast of new communications tools on the internet and make recommendations to the board as appropriate.
Chapter Editor:The Chapter editor will review copy to ensure AP Style standards and a unified voice in all chapter communications including email blasts, web site content, letters to the membership and social media posts.
PR Boost:This committee will be responsible for the planning and execution of this annual event that provides PR/communication assistance to area nonprofits.
PRSSA/Student Outreach:The PRSSA/Student Outreach Committee will serve as a liaison with local PRSSA chapters, coordinate at least one student program per year, build relationships with student PRSSA chapters and PR groups at universities and colleges with the chapter service area, assist in providing speakers for PRSSA meetings and other non-PRSSA groups, strongly encourage PRSA associate membership and chapter membership after college graduation.
Ethics Officer:The Ethics Officer will promote and inspire the highest levels of ethical behavior and performance among chapter members, provide education and consultation to the board and chapter members throughout the year as needed, assist accreditation chair with ethics study curriculum for accreditation exam.
Gold Pick:The Gold Pick Committee will handle chapter citation programs for outstanding service to the chapter and profession, responsible for all aspects of the annual awards event including call for entries, reciprocal judging, event coordination and management.
Accreditation:The Accreditation Committee will promote Universal Accreditation within the chapter and encourage eligible members to participate in the exam process, work with other chapter committees in planning and conducting courses or seminars to prepare candidates to take the accreditation exam, schedule written and oral portions of the accreditation exam and arranges for oral examining teams of three accredited members.
Membership Recruitment/Retention:The Membership Committee will identify eligible and qualified candidates with the chapter area, to assist them in becoming members (paying particular attention to graduating PRSSA members and new practitioners), develop and manage a member retention program, be familiar with the membership and eligibility information within the National bylaws, be aware of national membership promotions that can be leveraged locally, submit annual membership retention/recruitment plan to the board, promote friendly relations among members, welcome new members into the chapter and make certain that guests who attend chapter functions meet members, formally follow up with guests to all PRSA Colorado functions and solicit board support for follow up procedures, ensure each new member is accompanied and properly introduced when attending the first chapter meeting.
Programs:The Programs committee plans, promotes and stages a minimum of eight professional development programs for regular chapter meetings, in addition to scheduling speakers, panelists or other programs, including making all advance arrangements with speakers, obtain biographical information for introductions and promoting and publicizing the meeting, make recommendations to the board for the need for additional professional development programs.
Fall Summit:The Fall Summit Committee will plan, promote and stage the annual Fall Summit, a full-day professional development and networking event, in addition to scheduling speakers, panelists or other programs, including making all advance arrangements with speakers, obtain biographical information for introductions and promoting and publicizing the event.
Social:The Social Committee will create social and networking opportunities for chapter members throughout the year, coordinate annual events, including the leadership garden party and the holiday party.
Young Professionals:The Young Professionals Committee will create social and networking opportunities for chapter members throughout the year with a particular focus on younger members.
Task Forces and Other
Business Outreach:The Business Outreach Task Force will is responsible for creating a better understanding and awareness of the profession among key public's, such as business leaders.
Sponsorship:The Sponsorship Task Force will be led by the immediate past president. This task force is charged with creating sponsorship opportunities to generate chapter revenue, maintain relationships with sponsors, manage strategic partnerships with other professional organizations, collaborate with board and committee chairs to develop opportunities to generate chapter revenue.
Western District Liaison:The Western District Liaison represented the chapter at district events and board meetings when appropriate, they also participate in district board meetings and report to the chapter board.
