Nicole Yost


Nicole is founder and president of Fyn Public Relations, headquartered in Loveland. From publicly-traded, international corporations to local small businesses, she has a knack for identifying unique differentiators for successful strategies and turning these into real client results. Nicole has worked in various industries such as travel and tourist, real estate, entertainment and events, education, B2B and B2C technology, nonprofit, and business. She has placed clients in national top tier media such as USA Today, The Today Show, New York Times, CBS Sunday Morning, Fox & Friends, Associated Press, Reuters, and the Washington Post. In addition to her involvement with PRSA Colorado, Nicole is a professional adviser for Colorado State University's PRSSA chapter. She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Loveland, a 2012 graduate of Leadership Northern Colorado and has been recognized as the 2010 Rising Star with the Colorado Women of Influence and the 2012 Young Professionals of the Year by the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.


Renee Robinson, APR

President Elect

With 16 years of experience in public relations, Renee is a dedicated strategist and counselor with a proven ability to develop and lead communications initiatives that deliver results. Renee moved to Denver in 2013 and joined Ball Corporation, where she leads all external communications efforts. Renee previously lived in Kansas City, where she spent two years as PR consultant at Assurant Employee Benefits and nearly nine years at Nicholson Kovac, an integrated marketing communications agency. Renee also worked in corporate communications for Williams Energy and for BKD, a CPA and advisory firm, in Tulsa, Okla. Renee serves on the executive committee for PRSA’s Corporate Communications section and is a member of the Colorado chapter’s social and retreat committees. Renee served on PRSA’s national nominating committee, is past Midwest District chair and past president of the Kansas City chapter, where she was named PR Professional of the Year in 2012. She also served on the board of directors for PRSA’s Tulsa Chapter. Renee graduated from Oklahoma State University with bachelor’s degrees in English and journalism and broadcasting with a PR emphasis, as well as a master’s degree in mass communications and media management.

Suzanne Trantow


Suzanne has more than 15 years of PR experience and has been a PRSA Colorado member for 10 years. She contracts for Aguilar PR and serves as full-time spokesperson, strategic counselor, client contact, and daily execution lead for AT&T Mobility's five Western states. Suzanne has experience working at well-respected PR firms in Denver, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. She has worked on accounts ranging from universities, corporate entertainment events and celebrities to consumer businesses, telecommunications and nonprofit organizations. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In past years she has chaired the PRSA Colorado Social Committee, Social Media Committee and served as Chapter Editor.


Jerry Brown, APR


Jerry Brown, APR, committed journalism for 20 years. He’s practiced public relations even longer than that. One of his goals is to keep practicing until he gets it right. If you’ve done the math, you know he’s really . . . experienced. As a journalist, he was assignment editor for the AP’s Washington bureau during Watergate. He also worked for three daily newspapers, including the Rocky Mountain News. Jerry spent 17 years on the corporate public relations staff of US WEST (now CenturyLink) and has been an independent practitioner for more than 10 years. This is the second time he’s been on the board of PRSA Colorado. Brown previously served on the PRSA Colorado board from 2002 to 2004.

Cara Crifasi

Immediate Past President

Cara Crifasi is Co-founder and President of Evoke Creative Services, LLC, offering marketing and communications counsel and services to organizations of all types and sizes. She has nearly 15 years experience providing strategic communications and marketing counsel and support for global businesses in the financial services and technology industries. For nearly 12 years, she served on the corporate communications team at First Data, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing. Prior to First Data, she was an associate at Clarus Public Relations in Denver, supporting external communications programs for clients in technology, nonprofit and education. She has been a member of the PRSA since 2003 and previously served seven years, including two as treasurer, on PRSA Colorado's board of directors.


Elizabeth Jumel, APR

Elizabeth helps businesses get their message in front of the people who matter most - be it employees, the community being served or any other audience that would want to know about your business. With more than 14 years of professional experience, Elizabeth has done just about everything  there is to do under the public relations umbrella. On a local and national level, she has earned consumer and trade media placements for clients, used social media to compliment public relations programs, created strategic communications strategies aligned with business goals, and managed print and online advertising campaigns. During her career, she has established relationships with and earned client publicity in national publications including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Parade, The Associated Press and, business journals, daily and weekly newspapers, and trade publications. Elizabeth earned her accreditation in public relations in 2008.


Elisabeth Monaghan, APR

As the youngest of six “spirited” and talkative children, Elisabeth Monaghan, APR, learned early on that to effectively deliver her message, she must be an exceptional listener, writer and storyteller. Now, with more than 30 years of experience and a proven track record in strategic communications, Monaghan brings these same skills to her clients. Whether working in technology, book publicity, homebuilding, event-planning or as a community advocate, Monaghan has a history of putting clients at ease with her ability to lead teams, develop partnerships, manage projects and deliver successful programs. In 2010, Monaghan served as president of PRSA Colorado. While living in New Mexico from 2002 to 2006, she also served as secretary and ethics chair for PRSA New Mexico. Monaghan graduated summa cum laude from Regis University, with a bachelor’s in communication.


Diane Mulligan, APR

Diane Mulligan is president of M&C Communications. a public relations firm committed to representing inspirational organizations, products and services. M&C Communications works in all aspects of Public Relations, branding and crisis communications, specializing in insider media relations for clients including the American Culinary Federation Colorado Chefs Association, Colorado Respite Coalition, Easter Seals of Colorado, Keller Williams Realty DTC, Kroger/King Soopers, Rebuilding Together Metro Denver, Rocky Ford Growers Association and Viaero Wireless. Diane also manages a speakers bureau; Mulligan Speakers International. Diane is state coordinator for the grassroots mental health organization Creating Community Solutions Colorado and is founder of the nonprofit group CHART (Children’s Help and Assistance for Residential Treatment). Formerly, Diane was news director at Channel 7 in Denver and oversaw coverage of countless major stories as senior news editor for NBC News in New York City, before serving as Vice President of Communications for the National Stroke Association.



Stacey Sepp, APR

As the owner and principal of Xstatic Public Relations, Stacey manages the firm's clients and creates award-winning PR campaigns that feature big ideas and stellar results. Prior to co-founding Xstatic in 2004, Stacey worked in communications for Fortune 500 companies Echostar (DISH Network) and Richmond American Homes, and was manager of agency services with one of Colorado's top public relations firms. Stacey has managed campaigns for a diverse group of organizations, including Balanced Body, Corporate Express, Financial Planning Standards Board, the HERA Women's Cancer Foundation, Oncure Medical Corp., Party City and United Way. As a media relations expert, Stacey has placed stories in outlets ranging from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal to Lifehacker, HGTV and Shape Magazine. Stacey graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in technical communication and journalism. Stacey has served on the board of the National Association of Women Business Owners, local nonprofit professional dance company 7dancers, and currently serves the board of the Public Relations Society of America, Colorado Chapter, as an assembly delegate.


Dana Stone

Dana Stone is a dedicated problem solver, using award-winning communications strategies to solve external and internal business problems for healthcare-related businesses, financial services companies and nonprofit organizations. For more than 15 years, she has successfully implemented media relations (both traditional and social media), internal communications, cause marketing, brand management strategies and crisis communications for her clients. Dana has worked both in corporate and agency environments. She also is dedicated to serving her community, committing most of her volunteer efforts to PRSA Colorado. Over the past five years, Dana has served as chapter secretary, fall retreat committee member and member volunteer. In addition, she has held leadership positions for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), City Year Denver, Denver Health and SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center. Her work has been recognized by PRSA, the International Association of Business Communicators and the Business Marketing Association. She received her master’s degree in mass communications from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Florida State University.


Teresa Dougherty, APR


With more than 15 years of experience in corporate communications and public relations, Teresa Dougherty applies her deep background in PR and strategic communications for clients who wish to tell their stories and manage their communications with their publics. Accredited in Public Relations with degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Colorado, Dougherty has worked as an independent consultant, agency account director and VP/corporate communications manager. She has worked for clients in the financial services, healthcare and transportation industries, as well as for government and non-profit clients. Dougherty is a former journalist with a background in political science and advocacy, having served on the board of a literacy nonprofit and was recently appointed Ethics Officer of PRSA Colorado.


Michelle Ellis


Michelle Ellis is a partner of Orapin Marketing + Public Relations and a veteran communications professional with more than 16 years of experience in local, regional and national public relations programs, social media campaigns, marketing communications, community relations and event publicity, as well as broadcast journalism. She has worked with a variety of clients in a multitude of sectors, including small business, nonprofit, arts and entertainment, education, government,  consumer products, restaurant and food, publishing and business-to-business service. A Colorado native and Colorado State University alumna, Ellis is passionate about helping high impact companies with a Colorado connection take their communications to the next level so they will be heard, be seen and be remembered.


Kelly Janhunen


Kelly Janhunen is a senior account director and partner at Linhart Public Relations, a Denver-based PR firm recognized for its client work and business results, including being named for three  consecutive years to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Janhunen has more than 15 years of public relations agency experience with strengths in strategic counsel, reputation management, executive thought leadership, media relations and cross-functional, integrated approaches to brand-building. Janhunen focuses on creating highly targeted  communications programs that build awareness and affinity for Linhart PR’s national consumer brand clients, helping to drive traffic and sales, while also helping them stand out from and above the competition. Prior to joining Linhart PR, Janhunen was a client services manager at ClarusPR in Denver, and before that worked for Lois Paul & Partners, a Boston-area technology PR agency. She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Janhunen is a long-time member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), a two-time PRSA Silver Anvil award winner and previously served as PRSA Colorado board director for two consecutive terms in 2010 and 2012.


Michelle Kern


Michelle Kern is the business development manager for the IT consulting firm Onyx Data Solutions, where she is responsible for the communication strategy and execution for the company. She specializes in content development, branding, corporate communications and business development, and has more than ten years of experience in strategic communication strategies. Michelle has been a member of PRSA Colorado for five years. She has served as a committee member and co-chair for both the membership committee and social media committees. She has also served on the Western District Conference Committee in 2012 and recently helped architect the newly revamped website for PRSA Colorado. Michelle received her bachelor of arts degree in speech communications from Colorado State University. She has also participated in the Chamber 101 Leadership Program with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.


Claudia Morlan


Claudia Morlan is a seasoned communications specialist with expertise in creating and implementing public relations campaigns and managing relationships with clients, media and strategic partners. As an account director and management team member at Elmore Public Relations, she has strategized with clients on public communications and media relations for large-scale flood control district projects, parks and public spaces and issues related to urban design and scenic city planning. She has also pitched and secured editorial news coverage on a broad range of topics that include milestone-driven construction projects, entertainment shows, charitable gifts from foundations, retail stores and others. Claudia has a bachelor of arts degree in public relations/internal communications from the University of Houston. She has been a PRSA member since 2008, first as member of the Houston Chapter and then the Colorado Chapter and has served on the Excalibur, Gold Pick and Media committees.


Jessica Sidener


Jessica started her PR career doing media relations for The Ohio State University (OSU), where she worked extensively with local, state and national media outlets.  Jessica most recently was the director of communications, programming and partnerships for Arapahoe Library District, which serves more than 250,000 patrons in its eight locations. She provided strategic direction and executive counsel regarding all internal and external communications efforts. She also oversaw the digital and print marketing efforts more than 400 programs that occurred each month, as well as all library initiates and services. Jessica now has her own accessory/styling business, where she focuses on business development, marketing, public relations and brand development. Jessica has a Bachelor's in Journalism from OSU with an emphasis in public relations and  a Master of Science in Organization Leadership from Regis University. She serves on the board of directors of Colorado Safe Haven for Newborns.
